Week 6 Tuesday Round of 16 games preview

MIES (Switzerland) - The final week of the Round of 16 is set for action and it begins Tuesday March 22 with three games, including a Group K matchup that has major implications for the Quarter-Finals.

Here's a look at the three games scheduled for Tuesday:

Game 1: Filou Oostende (1-2) vs. U-BT Cluj Napoca (2-1) - Group K

Where: Oostende, Belgium

When: 20:00 CET

Oostende would advance with a win by six or more points. All other results will send Cluj Napoca and Unicaja through to the elite eight.

  • Oostende have alternated between wins and defeats in their nine home games in the BCL since the beginning of last season, winning the most recent one (86-68 vs. Unicaja); they have scored 85+ points in each of their last two BCL games but have never done it in three games in a row.
  • Oostende are the only team to score 50% or more of their field goals in the BCL this season (50.4%) and Cluj Napoca are fifth in that ranking (47.3%); Oostende were already the most accurate team in the BCL last season, making 50.7% of their field goals.
  • Levi Randolph scored 35 points last week against Unicaja, his best tally and the most for a player in a game with Oostende in the competition; he has scored more points this season (232) than in any of his previous two seasons in the BCL (202 in 2016-17 and 126 in 2017-18).

  • Tofas have won 10 of the last 11 BCL games where Tomislav Zubcic was a starter and have lost each of the three where he was a bench player; Zubcic was the best point scorer for Tofas the last time they faced Manresa (16pts), scoring as many three-pointers (3) as his teammates combined.

  • Darussafaka have win their last two BCL games and will attempt to win three in a row for the first time in the competition; they have won five of their eight games played in 2022 after winning only three of their 12 games played in the BCL in 2020 and 2021.
  • Darussafaka are the only team to have scored 600+ points from their two-pointers in the BCL this season (608) and have the biggest point-difference between their two-pointers and three-pointers (326 – 282 pts from 3P); on the other hand, Treviso are one of the two teams to have scored 400+ points from behind the arc (417 – Tenerife 447).
  • Darussafaka had three players scoring 20+ points last week against Manresa (Troy Caupain 20, Isaiah Pineiro 20 & Nathan Boothe 22), only the second time it happened for a team this season in the BCL; the only other team that achieved that this season was Treviso, two weeks ago, also against Manresa.
