Week 3 Wednesday Round of 16 games preview

MIES (Switzerland) - Week 3 of the Round of 16 continues Wednesday with a three-game slate that features one team looking to stay undefeated and another who is finally playing their first game after their last was postponed.

Here's a look at the three games scheduled for Wednesday:

Game 1: Galatasaray Nef (0-0) vs. JDA Dijon (1-1) - Group I

Where: Istanbul, Turkey

  • Galatasaray have won their last three games in the BCL, as many wins as in their previous nine games in the competition; they have won their last five BCL games where they managed to score 80+ points and have lost the only game in which they have scored fewer than that.
  • Galatasaray are averaging 1.2 points per possession in the BCL this season, more than any other team.
  • DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell has combined for 20+ points and 5+ rebounds in five of his six BCL games this season; he has done that in 11 BCL games in total, more than any other player in the competition's history.

  • Ludwigsburg are scoring on average 18.9 points per game from second chances in the BCL this season, more than any other team; Holon are one of the four teams to average fewer than nine second chance points per game (8.9).

  • Manresa have seen their bench players score 38.4 points per game this season in the BCL, more than any other team; however, their bench unit scored only 17 points last week against Tofas Bursa, the first time they scored fewer than 30 points in a BCL game in 2021-22.
  • Luke Maye has played 50% of his BCL games against teams from Turkey (3/6), scoring 18 points per game in those three appearances; he scored 31 points last week against Tofas,
    the first time that a player scored 30+ points with the Spanish team in the competition.

  • Dogus Özdemiroglu has averaged 16.7 points, 4.3 assists, 4 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in his last six appearances with Darüssafaka in the BCL; he has combined for 18 points, 7+ rebounds and 5+ assists in each of his last two games in the competition.
