Tuesday Round of 16 games preview

MIES (Switzerland) - The second week of the Round of 16 continues with three games from three different groups on Tuesday February 1. Some teams are playing their first game this round, while others are playing their second.

Here's a look at the three games scheduled for Tuesday:

Game 1: Darussafaka (0-1) vs. Nutribullet Treviso (0-0) - Group J

Where: Istanbul, Turkey

When: 20:00 CET

Darussafaka lost their first Round of 16 game to Tofas Bursa, 91-81, while Treviso have yet to play a Round of 16 game.

  • Gabe Olaseni has scored 10+ points in each of his last three BCL games, including a personal-high of 26 points in his last game, but he has never done that in four games in a row; he is averaging 14.7 points per game with Darussafaka in the BCL after averaging only 6 points per game in his previous BCL season, in 2016-17 with Banco di Sardegna Sassari.

  • Treviso have won their last three BCL games but are yet to win four in a row in the competition; each of their last three games ended with a double-digit margin after seeing a 10+ margin in only one of their first five BCL games.
  • Treviso have won 74% of the rebounds on the defensive end, the highest such ratio amongst all teams in the BCL this season; Treviso have conceded just 8.6 points per game in second chance situations, the second lowest average in the league in 2021-22 (Unicaja, 7.3).
  • Tomas Dimsa has scored 10+ points in 18 of his 23 BCL games but one of the five times he failed to reach that mark was away at BAXI Manresa, with Lietkabelis in October 2019 (8 pts); however, he is yet to score 20+ points in a BCL game.
  • Aaron Jones has grabbed 10+ rebounds in each of his last three away games in the BCL, only Emmanuel Terry has grabbed 10+ rebounds in more away games in a row in the competition (6).

Game 2: Prometey (0-0) vs. U-BT Cluj Napoca (1-0) - Group K

*This scheduled game has been postponed, following the Return to Play Protocol established by the Basketball Champions League, and is rescheduled for March 3.

Cluj Napoca won their first Round of 16 game against Unicaja, 79-73, while Prometey have yet to play a Round of 16 game after being the last team to qualify for this stage.

  • D.J. Kennedy has had three games with 15+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists, the most of any player in the BCL this season.
  • D'Angelo Harrison has scored 10+ points in his last seven BCL games, tied for his longest streak in the competition; however, five of the six games where he didn’t manage to score in double figures came at home.
  • Harrison swiped four steals in Game 3 of the Play-In series against Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem; before that, he only had three total steals in his previous eight appearances with Prometey in the BCL this season.

  • Cluj Napoca have won six of their seven BCL games, their only defeat coming away from home (68-78 against Hapoel U-NET Holon); they are one of the three teams, alongside Tofas Bursa and Falco Szombathely, to have never seen a final margin greater than 10 points this season.
  • Cluj Napoca have attempted (27.1) and made (18.3) the most free-throws per game in the BCL this season.
  • Brandon Brown has made 3+ three-pointers in each of his five BCL games with Cluj Napoca this season, as only John Roberson has done it in more games this season (6); he scored 3+ three-pointers in only four of his 16 games with Nizhny Novgorod previously in the league.
