15 things to look out for in Tuesday's Quarter-Finals

MIES (Switzerland) - Game 2 in two of the Basketball Champions League Quarter-Final series takes place on Tuesday, and on both cases it is a do-or-die game for the home team.

Reminder: The Quarter-Finals are best-of-three series, meaning that the first team that reaches two wins advances to the Final Four in Belgrade.

Here are 15 things you need to know ahead of the two Tuesday games:

Promitheas Patras vs. Unicaja (Unicaja lead the series 1-0)

Game 2 - 18:30 CET - Patras, Greece

Anthony Cowan is averaging an amazing 21.2 points per game at home

● Promitheas have signed shooting guard Bryce Hamilton, who spent the last two seasons in the NBA G League. Hamilton is expected to make his BCL debut on Tuesday, after debuting in the Greek league on Sunday. He had 15 points in Promitheas's emphatic 84-51 win over Aris Thessaloniki.

● Promitheas are 5-2 in the seven home games they have played in the BCL this season. Interestingly, each of their last three home games was decided by a one-point margin (won against AEK and UCAM Murcia, lost to Hapoel Holon).

● Unicaja have not lost a game in the BCL since we entered 2024, winning seven in a row by an average margin of 14.4 points. However, their last defeat was in Greece, as they lost 76-73 at Peristeri bwin in December.

● No team has managed to score more than 80 points against Unicaja in any of the Spanish team's last nine BCL games.

● Promitheas average 10.4 made three-pointers per game, which equals 31.2 points per game and makes them the highest-scoring team fom behind the arc among the 16 that reached the Round of 16 this season.

● This impressive stat however might count for little against Unicaja, as the Spanish side are one of only four teams in this season's BCL to hold opponents to below 7 made three-pointers on average (6.9).

● Anthony Cowan of Promitheas is averaging 21.2 points and 6.2 assists per game at home and scored 20 or more points in each of the last four games in Patras. Cowan made more 3-pointers than 2-pointers in three of his last four games at home.

● If Unicaja's Kendrick Perry scores 15 or more points on Tuesday it will be the first time he registers this feat in three consecutive BCL games on the road. Perry scored more than 15 points in two of his three trips to Greece in the BCL.

MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg vs. UCAM Murcia (Murcia lead the series 1-0)

Game 2 - 20:00 CET - Ludwigsburg, Germany

Silas Melson has been a force to be reckoned with in Ludwigsburg's recent home games

● The two teams have met on four occasions previously, with Murcia leading 3-1. MHP RIESEN's sole win though came in the only game that was played in Ludwigsburg, 81-80 in November 2018).

● MHP RIESEN lost 85-81 to Telekom Baskets Bonn in their most recent game at home, but they were on a 5-game winning streak in their previous five BCL games in Ludwigsburg.

● If Murcia lose on Tuesday it would be the first ever time they suffer three consecutive defeats on the road in a single BCL season (they lost 79-78 at Promitheas and 64-60 at Hapoel Holon in March). Six of Murcia's last nine games on the road were decided by a margin of five points or fewer, including the most recent three games.

● Murcia lead the BCL this season in proportion of points from two-point range, as they score 53.8 percent of their total points from within the arc.

● This can be a major issue for MHP RIESEN as they have the most permissive defense in the BCL against two-point shots. 58.3 percent of the points the German team allows are scored from two-point range.

● MHP RIESEN's Silas Melson has averaged 17.5 points per game over the last four home BCL games, after averaging 5.8 points in the first four home games. He is a perfect 14-of-14 from the free-throw line at home.

● If Murcia's Marko Todorovic scores 15 or more points on Tuesday he will put together the first three-game stretch of 15+ point games of his BCL career. He scored more than 20 points in two of Murcia's last three road games, including his first ever BCL double-double (23 points, 11 rebounds) against Hapoel Holon.
