Week 4 Tuesday Round of 16 games preview

MIES (Switzerland) - The action is back, as week four of the Round of 16 returns with a total of four games on Tuesday March 8 with two of the games featuring an undefeated team looking to remain perfect.

Here's a look at the four games scheduled for Tuesday:

Game 1: Darussafaka (1-2) vs. Tofas Bursa (3-0) - Group J

Where: Istanbul, Turkey

When: 20:00 CET

  • Darussafaka have won four of their last five home games in the BCL after losing two of their previous three; Darussafaka's last five games in the competition have ended with a differential of 10 or more points, after nine of their previous 10 finishing with a single digit margin.
  • Olaseni scored 26 points against Tofas earlier this season in the BCL, his most points scored in a game in the competition; he made 14 free-throws in that game, more than any other player in a BCL game this season.

  • Tofas have won their last three games in the BCL but have never had a longer winning streak in the competition; this will be their fourth game against a fellow Turkish opponent in the BCL, after winning their two home games (91-81 vs. Darussafaka & 90-79 vs. Pinar Karsiyaka) and losing their away game (70-78
    at Karsiyaka).
  • Tofas have scored 22.7 points from turnovers, the most of any team in the BCL in 2021-22; Darussafaka have made 16.5 turnovers per game, tied for the most amongst all teams still competing in the BCL Play-Offs (also BAXI Manresa).
  • Tomislav Zubcic has scored 10+ points in 10 of his last 11 games in the BCL, including exactly 16 points in four of his last five appearances; however, the only time in failed to reach double-digit in scoring in that span was against Darussafaka, when he registered his lowest mark in a BCL game (4 pts in January 2022).

  • Galatasaray have scored 1.19 points per possession, the most of any team in the BCL this season; they have scored more three-pointers per game (11.6) than any other team in the league in 2021-22.
  • David Kravish combined for 15 points and 18 rebounds in his last BCL game, against JDA Dijon, the only time a player has registered 15+ points and 15+ rebounds in a BCL game this season; he also grabbed 11 offensive rebounds in that game, tied for the most by a player in a game in the BCL history.

Game 3: U-BT Cluj Napoca (3-0) vs. Unicaja (1-2) - Group K

  • Cluj Napoca have used only seven different players as starters in the BCL this season, tied for the lowest amongst all teams still competing in this round of 16.

Game 4: SIG Strasbourg (2-1) vs. Rytas Vilnius (1-2) - Group L

When: 20:00 CET

This will be the fourth encounter between Strasbourg and Rytas in the BCL, with the latter winning two of the previous three matchups, including last season’s game in Strasbourg (83-81). Each of the three previous encounters have ended with a margin of five or fewer points.
