Bologna best newcomer ever and 11 other facts you might have missed this week


MIES (Switzerland) - The seventh week of the Basketball Champions League season is just behind us. The perfect time to have a look a some key facts to take away after this week's games.

Teams

  • Segafredo Virtus Bologna have become the first team in BCL history to win their first seven games in the competition. They are now the only unbeaten team this season. Only Monaco in 2017/18 have previously managed to win their first seven games of a BCL season.
  • Telekom Baskets Bonn scored 114 points against Opava, a joint-high in a single game in BCL history: CEZ Nymburk (114-70 v Bakken Bears in 2016/17) and Neptunas Klaipeda (114-73 v Gaziantep in 2017/18) have also scored 114 points in a single BCL game.
  • medi Bayreuth have made 34 shots from 2PT against Neptunas Klaipeda, the most by any team in a single BCL game this season.
  • Umana Reyer Venezia have decided a game in overtime for the fifth time in BCL history, a joint-high among all teams in the league history (Rosa Radom, also 5 games).
  • Le Mans are the first team this season to make no free-throw in a BCL game (3 attempted).
  • Besiktas Sompo Japan's bench scored 60 points against Petrol Olimpija, the second highest tally for a bench unit in a BCL game this season.
