MIES (Switzerland) - With just two gamedays remaining in Group E, Pinar Karsiyaka and SIG Strasbourg are tied at the top. However, in order to remain at the top, every single point will count over the last 80 minutes (or more) of Regular Season action.

Heading into the Tuesday matchup in Turkiye, SIG Strasbourg were at 3-0 and owned a 15-point advantage over Pinar Karsiyaka in their head-to-head. Heading into the final minute of the game it was clear they would drop to 3-1 and Karsiyaka would draw level , so it was up to SIGmen to cut the gap to less than 15 points.

They were just a couple of tenths of a second away from pulling it off. Trailing by 12 points, Strasbourg gained possession and looked to score, perhaps a bit too hastily, leaving just enough time for Vernon Carey Jr to block Romuald Morency's layup attempt and push the ball forward.

Kelan Martin got the shot off right before the final buzzer, drilling a wild off-balance three-pointer to make it 87-72 so that  Karsiyaka match in extremis the 15-point difference of the first encounter.

As per the Official Basketball Rules,  (extract D.1.3), now that the teams are tied with the same record (3-1), the same points difference in games between them (0), and the total points scored in games between them (152-152), the next criteria to determine the final ranking would be the higher game points of all games in the group.

Hence, Pinar Karsiyaka take the lead in the group currently, as their overall point differential right now is +19 while Strasbourg drop to second with a +15 overall points differential.

Reminder: All group winners move straight to the Round of 16. Second- and third-placed teams will play the Play-Ins in January, with the higher seed getting the home court advantage in each best-of-three series.
