BCL Fantasy tips: Group G pack to the rescue

MIES (Switzerland) - The eighth Basketball Champions League season brought along a new challenge in our official Fantasy game. Every Monday we will bring you some tips on where to aim so that you can reach the highest possible number of points on the week.

Whether you're fighting for honors in a private league, or in the public weekly and monthly challenges, or in the Regular Season, by now you already know what you have on your team. You're either happy where you're sitting, or entering panic mode, trying to save the day.

We have a tip for you on how to invest in your team.

The toughest group could be kind to you

Back in July, the BCL draw put together a special group of talent with Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, SL Benfica, Galatasaray EKMAS and PAOK mateco all drawn into Group G.

The enormous potential of the group makes it intriguing week in, week out, and with a couple of months of competitive basketball behind the teams, we can already see a similarity between the four: no major stars, no one-man bands, just depth and balance in the lineup.

Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem picked up two wins in two games and feel really good ahead of their game in Thessaloniki on Wednesday. Coach Aleksandar Dzikic is getting a lot from a lot of his guys. Over the first two encounters, five of them are averaging double-digit efficiency.

Zach Hankins averages a team-high efficiency rating of 20  per game, Khadeen Carrington 17, Levi Randolph 16.5, Maurice Ndour 15.5, Speedy Smith 14 - and keep in mind guys like Chris Johnson and Yovel Zoosman are just below 10, well capable of climbing into 20s in efficiency.

Their next opponent has just about the same vibe. PAOK mateco's average efficiency rating per game: Elvar Fridriksson 20 Jamuni McNeace 15, Michael Gilmore 13, Andrew Harrison 11.5, Laurynas Beliauskas 10.5. Oh, and then you have Justin Alston, author of a 19-point, 14-rebound double-double over the weekend in a win over Apollon Patras.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray EKMAS are going through a rough patch, but with Corey Walden, Akwasi Yeboah, Miralem Halilovic, Jonah Radebaugh and Sadik Emir Kabaca, coach Zvezdan Mitrovic has a lot of firepower at his disposal.

SL Benfica are the best story of them all, because one would assume as an outsider in this group they wouldn't be exactly as deep as the others.

One would be wrong. Because Ivan Almeida is one of the most efficient players of the entire BCL, Terrell Carter is right next to him, and Toney Douglas, Trey Drechsel and Makram Ben Romdhane all fill up the boxscore with their all-round high efficiency games.

So with that in mind, it's time for you to invest. If you check the "packs" segment of the Fantasy website you can select the Group G pack and it could prove a bargain if you consider the amount of talent in this group, the amount of efficiency on each team, and most importantly, the prizes you could win at the end of the day.

If you have to invest and have to pick one place which sounds logical this week, it's the pack containing players from these four firecracker of teams.
