MIES (Basketball Champions League) - The 2018-19 Basketball Champions League Regular Season officially started on Tuesday across Europe, as we recap the action.

Find reports of Telenet Giant Antwerp's overtime victory over Lietkabelis here , and JDA Dijon's comeback win over CEZ Nymburk here.

Nizhny Novgorod vs Sidigas Avellino

Sidigas Avellino rode 34 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists from Norris Cole for a thrilling 100-93 double overtime victory on the road over Nizhny Novgorod.

In what turned into a duel between Cole and Kendrick Perry - who finished with 25 points,  7 rebounds and 6 assists (and a buzzer beating three to force the last overtime)  - neither team would give an inch until the second overtime where Avellino asserted their authority on the game.

They outscored Nizhny 10-2 in the second extra period, including the dagger from Cole for a 6-point cushion with 21 seconds left.

Caleb Green had 19 points and 9 rebounds for Avellino, with Demetris Nichols and Keifer Sykes adding 14-a-piece.

Aaron Broussard added 15 points, and Sergey Toropov 13 for the home side.

Notable Number: 2 - the number of free throws Toropov missed with the game tied and 21 seconds remaining, that would have likely seen the home team victorious in regulation.

Petrol Olimpija vs SIG Strasbourg

SIG Strasbourg used a dominant second quarter to come away with a 81-71 win over Petrol Olimpija.

Trailing by two heading into the period, Strasbourg opened the quarter on an 11-0 run to take control - including 7 from Nicolas Lang - and would hold off the home side the rest of the way.

Lang would finish with a game-high 21, going 8-for-14 from the field, whilst he was backed up by 20 from Ali Traoré.

Blaz Mesicek had 17 to lead Olimpija, and Jan Span 14 - as they combined to miss just six shots between them.

Notable Number: 27 - the number of points Strasbourg poured in, in the second quarter where they took a control of the contest.

Medi Bayreuth vs Besiktas Sompo Japan

German national team captain Robin Benzing took over in his homeland return as Besiktas avenged last season's Round of 16 loss with a 78-70 win over Medi Bayreuth.

Benzing had 16 of his 20 points in the second half, going 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and knocking down some clutch free throws, as he led Besiktas past Bayreuth, who had no answers for the 6'10" big man.

Ivan Buva had 16 points in 21 minutes, and Can Maxim Mutaf had 13 points for the Turkish side.

Bayreuth got 14 from Hassan Martin and Gregor Hrovat had 8 assist to go with his 10 points.

Notable Number: 10 - The number of three-pointers Besiktas knocked down, going 47.6% from beyond the arc.

Umana Reyer Venezia vs PAOK

Umana Reyer Venezia protected home court behind Mitchell Watt's impressive outing for a 69-59 win over PAOK.

Mitchell Watt had 25 points in under 20 minutes, going 6-for-10 from the floor and 13-of-14 at the line,

It was PAOK's three-point percentage which helped keep them in the game, but it would not be enough as Venezia stood firm behind their home crowd.

Aside from Watt, Austin Daye and MarQuez Haynes had 13 points-a-piece for Venezia.

Yanick Moreira had a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double to lead the visitors.

Notable Number:  21 - the number of times PAOK turned over the ball, leading to 15 points off turnovers for Venezia.

Iberostar Tenerife vs Telekom Baskets Bonn

Iberostar Tenerife put together a complete performance on their way to a 87-68 win over Telekom Baskets Bonn to open the season in Spain.

Tenerife set the tone from the opening tip with a 29-13 first period,  as they trailed for just 28 seconds of the game.

Six players reached double figures, led by 13 from Thaddus McFadden and 12-a-piece from Colton Iverson and Ferrann Bassass, as Tenerife knocked down ten triples.

Bonn saw 18 points from Bojan Subotic, but Charles Jackson was the only other player in double figures with 14.

Notable Number: 65.3 - the percentage Tenerife shot from the floor, as they were a blistering 75% inside the arc and 50% outside.
