Which team has the best D?

There have been some lock-down defenses in the Basketball Champions League this season and we think four have been the stingiest.

French outfits Le Mans and AS Monaco, Lithuanians Neptunas and Greek outfit AEK have been tough to score against in the first five week of the campaign. But which one has been the best? Have your say.

Le Mans

Le Mans forward Ryan Pearson guards the rim

Le Mans allowed just 49 points in their first couple of wins to start the season over Umana Reyer Venezia and Khimik. They are giving up an average of 60.4ppg.

AS Monaco

AS Monaco rank second overall in the competition in steals with 53. Steals often lead to fast-breaks and dunks, as has been the case with players like Yakuba Ouattara. Zach Wright has been the biggest thief with a team-high 14, a total that is fourth most in the Basketball Champions League.

Neptunas

Jerai Grant has blocked five shots for Neptunas

Neptunas are one of only two unbeaten sides in the Basketball Champions League and the defense is a big reason why. They are holding opponents to an average of 63.6ppg.

AEK

The top defensive effort for AEK this season came in the opening week at home to Szolnoki Olaj, who managed to score just 49 points against the Greeks. Jawad Williams has been their best shot-swatter with 8 and Giannoulis Larentzakis has a team-best 9 steals, including 3 in the win over Szolnoki and 3 in a defeat to Besiktas Sompo Japan
