Brown, Dillard dazzle as Pinar Karsiyaka down Khimik

YUZHNE (Basketball Champions League) - When it comes to slick ball-handling, passing guards in the Basketball Champions League, Pinar Karsiyaka are second to none.

J'Covan Brown and Kevin Dillard showed as much on Tuesday night, combining for 22 points and 8 assists in the Turkish club's 78-60 victory at Khimik.

Dillard came off the bench and mesmerized with his crossover dribble, including at the end of the second and third quarters when he hit shots to extend his team's lead.

Brown, who had a memorable 22-point, 9-rebound and 9-assist performance earlier in the regular season in a 76-74 victory at Avtodor Saratov, triggered a decisive third-quarter run with a pair of drives that allowed his team to stretch a 32-29 half-time lead to a 49-29 stranglehold.

Add a very unselfish shooting guard like Mateusz Ponitka, a fiery forward Brent Petway and talented big men DeJuan Summers, Josh Owens and 20-year-old Turkish international Akif Egemen Guven to the mix and Pinar Karsiyaka have a lot of promise.

Summers had 12 of his team-high 16 points in the first half for Karsiyaka, who play their next three games at home against Kataja Basket, CSM CSU Oradea and Umana Reyer Venezia.

For Khimik, a bad start to life in the Basketball Champions League went to worse as they failed to come out strong after half-time and had very little chance of battling back once the Turkish club's lead surpassed 20 points. Karsiyaka led by as many as 24.
