Who's the scariest big in the Basketball Champions League?

Venturing into the lane on offense can be a risky proposition for players in the Basketball Champions League because waiting for them in the low post is often an intimidator on the other team.

There are a lot of bigs that can't wait to get their long arms and fly-swatter hands in the way of lay-up or dunk attempts. These giant men can also be quite frightening at the other end.

Keeping them off the offensive glass is a royal pain and preventing them from going hard to the rack is not an easy task. Who is the scariest big guy in the Basketball Champions League? We've come up with four possibilities.

Marco Cusin, 2.11m

Cusin's mission in his life as a basketball player is to reject shots that go up anywhere close to the lane. His teammates thrive off the energy his plays create. Averaging 1.3 blocks per game and 2.8 per 40 minutes, Cusin has five in his last two games. The Pordenone-born center affects many other shots, and he's pretty ruthless with the rim when his teammates get him the ball. Cusin can hit the jumper but prefers to go hard to basket.

Octavius Ellis, 2.09m

Remember the block party that took place on Gameday 4 in Bar, Montenegro, when Memphis native and KK Mornar pivot Ellis swatted not just a handful of shots but seven? Yes, Ellis distinguished himself as a big-time rim-protector in that contest. He's also been known to posterize opponents with hellacious dunks.

Gasper Vidmar, 2.10m

A word to the wise: Don't get in the way of Vidmar when that big man is going to the basket because he can hurt you. Vidmar, who weighs in at around 114kg, has on numerous occasions in his career, including this season, dunked it so hard that it seemed the rim would break away from the backboard. He's also blocked his share of shots.

Vladimir Stimac, 2.11m

Besiktas center Stimac has proven to be a tour de force at both ends of the floor for the Group E leaders. Twice this season he's had four-block games, against Stelmet Zielona Gora on Gameday 4 and then against Proximus Spirou on Gameday 8. Stimac has been very good on the boards, corralling an average of 9.3 per game.
