Group G: Unicaja set another unbreakable BCL record

    Review
Impressive performance by Ibon Navarro and his men

As if winning the group at 6-0 was not enough, Unicaja spiced up their last win with another BCL mark

MIES (Switzerland) - Group G of Season X of the Basketball Champions League, powered by Ameresco SUNEL was the only group where all positions were locked even before the final Gameday.

However, the defending champions still made this an occasion to remember.

    Unicaja 115-84 Karditsa Iaponiki

We always emphasized the depth of coach Ibon Navarro's squad. They took it to another level, as they poured in 115 points against Karditsa to protect their perfect record and win their 17th straight home game in the BCL.

The new record? They became the first team to have nine players in double figures in scoring:

    1. Jonathan Barreiro (15)

    2. Aleksander Balcerowski (14)

    3. James Webb III (13)

    4. Killian Tillie (12)

    5. Kendrick Perry (11)

    6. Chris Duarte (11)

    7. Nihad Dedovic (11)

    8. Chase Audige (11)

    9. Augustine Rubit (10)

Karditsa tried their best to stay attached, even winning the second quarter 29-27, but it was not enough to disrupt the rhythm of Unicaja's flow.

Damien Jefferson scored 26 points, while Nikolaos Diplaros had a unique stat line: 0 points, 10 assists, becoming the first player with such numbers since Dani Perez (BAXI Manresa) did it in February 2023.

Mersin Sports Club 84-76 Filou Oostende

Mersin had already secured second spot and home-court advantage in their Play-Ins battle with Le Mans Sarthe Basket, but they kept their focus on closing out the group with another home win.

They defeated the perennial Belgian champs with ease, leading for exactly 30:00, while Oostende spent just six minutes of the first half being in front.

This is the first time in Oostende's 10 BCL seasons that they exit the competition without a single win, finishing at 0-6.

Ronald March Jr had 30 points for Mersin, hitting five three-pointers. Jack White and Anthony Cowan both had double-doubles, White with 13 points and 18 rebounds, getting 4 blocks, too; while Cowan had 13 points with 11 assists.

Justin Cobbs was also in double digits with 10.

Noam Yaacov and Silas Melson had 19 each for Oostende.
