Everything you need to know ahead of Tuesday's Gameday 9 fixtures

MIES (Switzerland) - Tuesday action tips off with a potentially crucial clash in the Group C qualification race, between Nizhny Novgorod and 2019 semi-finalists Brose Bamberg, and features seven more important contests.

Let's have a closer look at Tuesday's eight-game slate:

Nizhny Novgorod (5-3) v Brose Bamberg (4-4) - Group C, 17:00 CET

Brandon Brown, who had led Nizhy to victory in the reverse fixture, earned Gameday 8 MVP honors last week

  • Nizhny have tabbed 33-year-old guard Michael Jenkins, who had helped Reyer Venezia lift the 2018 FIBA Europe Cup title.

  • Nizhny won 73-59 in the reverse fixture in Germany on Gameday 2, behind 19 points and 9 assists from Brandon Brown.

  • Nizhny, who have won their last two home games against VEF Riga and Iberostar Tenerife, have never won three home games in a row in the competition.

  • Bamberg, who are on a two-game losing streak after falling to Iberostar Tenerife and ERA Nymburk, have never lost three consecutive games in the Regular Season.

  • Bamberg average a league-best 10.5 turnovers per game. Their defense consequently gives up 10 points off turnovers per game on average, fewer than any other team so far this season.

  • Brandon Brown, who earned Gameday 8 MVP honors, has scored at least 20 points in each of Nizhny's last two games.

  • Christian Sengfelder led Bamberg in scoring in their two most recent games as he scored 20 points against Tenerife and 17 points against Nymburk). Sengfelder had not scored more than 11 points in any of the first six games of the season.


Lietkabelis (3-5) v BAXI Manresa (6-2) - Group A, 18:00 CET

Lietkabelis forward Zeljko Sakic has been on fire in the last couple of games

  • Manresa beat Lietkabelis 76-70 in the reverse fixture on Gameday 2 led by David Kravish's 19-point, 5-rebound performance.

  • Lietkabelis have lost three of their last five home games in the BCL, after winning four of their first six.

  • Manresa are riding a three-game winning streak for the first time in the competition. The Spanish side won their last two road games, after losing their first two games on the road.

  • Manresa have the highest assist-to-turnover ratio so far this season, averaging 2.2 assists for each turnover. Manresa average 11.1 turnovers per game, second only to Bamberg in the league.

  • Zeljko Sakic of Lietkabelis is the only player to have scored more than 30 points in multiple games this season, as he had 32 points against Polski Cukier Torun and 31 points against Dinamo Sassari. Sakic has made all 18 of his last free-throws.

  • Ryan Toolson of Manresa is averaging 20.3 points in the last three road games in the BCL. Interestingly, the veteran shooting guard is coming off a 30-point display on the road in Manresa's 106-104 overtime win at Badalona in Spanish Liga Endesa action at the weekend.


Gaziantep (2-6) v ERA Nymburk (6-2) - Group C, 18:00 CET

Zach Hankins had 3 blocks to go with his double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds in the reverse fixture

  • Nymburk prevailed 74-72 in overtime in the reverse fixture in the Czech Republic on Gameday 2, behind a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds from Zach Hankins, who also had 3 blocks.

  • Gaziantep, who beat Nizhny Novgorod 79-76 in their most recent home game, have never won two consecutive home games in the competition.

  • Nymburk have won three of their last four road games, after losing six of their seven previous games on the road.

  • Gaziantep’s bench is averaging a league-low 18.5 points per game. No other team’s second unit is averaging fewer than 20 points per game.

  • Nymburk's defense is giving up a league-best 0.97 points per possession. Nymburk also has the best defensive ratio in the league, as the hold opponents to a field goal percentage of just 39.4 percent. 

  • Vojtech Hruban of Nymburk is averaging 19.3 points in the last three games, after averaging 9 points in his first five games this season.


PAOK (3-5) v Falco Szombathely (4-4) - Group D, 18:00 CET

Zoltan Perl fueled Falco's win the first time the two teams met, in Hungary

  • Falco won 76-66 in the reverse fixture, led by Zoltan Perl who had 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

  • PAOK have won seven of their last 10 home games in the Regular Season, scoring 90 or more points in five of those wins.

  • Falco are riding a two-game winning streak, however they are yet to win on the road in the competition.

  • Falco give up a league-best 7.1 second-chance points per game on average while PAOK are the second-best defense in the league in this respect, giving up 7.5 second-chance points on average.

  • Antwaine Wiggins of PAOK scored at least 17 points in both games he came off the bench, as he had 17 points against Neptunas Klaipeda and 25 points against Besiktas Sompo Sigorta. Wiggins didn't score in double digits in any of the six BCL games he started.

  • Zoltan Perl is averaging 9 points per game on the road, compared to 17.8 points per game at home.


UNET Holon (3-5) v Filou Oostende (3-5) - Group A, 20:00 CET

Malachi Richardson has parted ways with Holon

  • Holon have parted ways with Malachi Richardson, who has joined Italian side Cremona. The 23-year-old guard averaged 11.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in the BCL.

  • Oostende won 101-86 in the reverse fixture as Shevon Thompson collected a double-double of 22 points and 17 rebounds.

  • Holon have lost nine of the 10 games in which they scored 75 or fewer points, including their two most recent games.

  • Oostende have lost all five of their games on the road so far this season. The Belgian team hasn't scored more than 71 points in any of those games.

  • Holon are leading the league in field goal percentage with 49.2 percent and are also shooting a league-high 42.3 percent from three-point range.

  • Oostende are averaging a league-low 0.98 points per possession and a league-low 5.3 made three-pointers per game.

  • Holon's Marcus Foster scored 22 points off the bench in the reverse fixture and went on to average 18.5 points in the most recent six games, as a starter.


RASTA Vechta (4-4) v EB Pau-Lacq-Orthez (2-6) - Group B, 20:00 CET

Léo Cavalière has become the latest Pau player to suffer an injury

  • Pau are by far the most injury-plagued team in this season's BCL and the latest victim is their captain Léo Cavalière, who is doubtful for the Tuesday game after picking up an injury in Pau's 84-83 win at Boulazac in French Jeep Elite league action at the weekend.

  • Pau have signed Ousmane Drame to step in for the sidelined through injury Cheikh Mbodj. Drame played for Ventspils in last season's BCL, averaging 8.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in 12 games.

  • The French side have also penned Vojdan Stojanovski, who will step in for the injured Tyrus McGee. The North Macedonia international spent last season at EWE Baskets Oldenburg.

  • Vechta won 90-75 in the reverse fixture in France, behind 19 points from Trevis Simpson.

  • Pau's Travis Leslie had a season-high 22 points in the reverse fixture but has missed the last two games through injury.

  • Vechta have lost the four games in which they gave up 80 or more points and won the four games in which they gave fewer than 80 points.

  • Pau, who have lost three of their four road games, have never led at half-time in any of their eight games so far this season.

  • Vechta are leading the league in made three-pointers with 98 (12.3 per game) and they are shooting 40 percent from downtown, which is the second-highest three-point field goal percentage in the league, behind Holon.

  • Jordan Davis has already scored 59 points points in this two games with Vechta, 16 more than in his five games with Manresa.
     

SIG Strasbourg (4-4) v Polski Cukier Torun (1-7) - Group A, 20:30 CET

Keith Hornsby went 8 of 11 from three-point range in the reverse fixture

  • Torun won 97-81 in the reverse fixture behind 28 points on 8 of 11 three-point shooting by Keith Hornsby. That has been so far the Polish team's only victory in the BCL.

  • Strasbourg's Travis Trice is doubtful for the Tuesday game after sitting out the 91-73 win at Dunkerque in French Jeep Elite league action at the weekend. The Strasbourg guard had missed last week's game against Oostende due to a last-minute injury.

  • Torun are leading the league in scoring with 92.4 points per game and are the only team with averaging over 90 points per game this season. However, they also have the league's worse defense, giving up 102.5 points per game. Torun are giving up 96 points per game on average when playing on the road.

  • Strasbourg, who have lost their last two home games, have never lost three consecutive games at home in the competition.

  • Strasbourg have the league's second-best (behind Besiktas) defensive rebound ratio, bringing down 73.5 percent of boards available on their defensive glass.

  • Keith Hornsby was the only player in the league to collect at least 20 points and 5 assists in each of the last two gamedays.


Iberostar Tenerife (7-1) v Mornar Bar (2-6) - Group C, 20:30 CET

Tenerife have brought back Bogris, a member of their 2017 BCL champion squad

  • Big man Georgios Bogris, who was a member of Tenerife's 2016-17 BCL championship-winning team, is poised to make his 2019-20 BCL debut after re-joining the Spanish team earlier this month.

  • Tenerife are looking to win an eighth consecutive home game (four of which this season) for the first time in their competition history. The Spanish side have given up 60.7 points per game on average during their most recent seven wins at home.

  • Mornar Bar have won only one of the 11 games they have played on the road in the competition. They have lost all four road games this season, giving up at least 80 points in each one.

  • Tenerife are averaging a league-low 16.4 fouls per game and have consequently conceded a league-low 9.1 free-throws per game.

  • Tenerife's Alex Lopez had 13 points and 9 assists in last week's game against Nizhny Novgorod, just one point and one assist short of his combined tally (14 points and 10 assists) in the first seven games.

  • Mornar's Uros Lukovic had at least 3 blocks in each of the last three games, after averaging 0.5 blocks in his first four games in the competition.
