Quarter-Finals Game 3 preview: Will Tenerife or Manresa prevail in Spanish showdown?

TENERIFE (Spain) - The defending champs Lenovo Tenerife couldn't come away with a sweep over BAXI Manresa in Game 2 and will now attempt to close out the Quarter-Finals series back at home in the Canary Islands.

The game will tip off on Wednesday April 19 at 20:30 CET.

Tenerife are aiming for their fourth Semi-Finals appearance in the BCL, while Manresa are looking to get back to a second straight Final Four.

Game 2 came down to the final possession with Tenerife having a chance to either tie or win the game, but Giorgi Shermadini couldn't come up with a pass from Bruno Fitipaldo and they turned the ball over without getting a shot attempt.

All 12 players for Manresa got into the scoring column with Devin Robinson leading the way with 16 points and 6 rebounds, while only missing one shot attempt from the field and making all three of his shots from beyond the arc.

  • Tenerife and Manresa will face each other for the fourth time in the BCL, with the team from the Canary Islands leading 2-1; both teams scored more than 80 points in each of their previous three meetings in the competition.

  • Tenerife, who are of course coming off a loss in Game 2, have lost consecutive games in the competition only once, back in November 2016.

  • The yellow-blacks have won their last 13 home games, which is their longest streak at home in the competition, but the two most recent games were decided by a single-digit margin, while they had won the previous five home games by double-digit margins.

  • Giorgi Shermadini needs 17 points to become the second player, after Vojtech Hruban, to reach the 900-point milestone in the BCL. The Georgian center scored 17+ points in the first two games of the Quarter-Finals series against Manresa, and if he repeats this feat on Wednesday he will tie his longest such streak from December 2019, when he scored 17+ in three games in a row.

  • Manresa have lost their last three road games in the BCL, including a 91-84 defeat against Tenerife, but have never lost four consecutive road games in the competition. Manresa gave up more than 90 points in each of their last two road games, when they had allowed 90+ points in only two of their first 19 road games in the competition.

  • Manresa's Devin Robinson is among nine players that have averaged 15+ points and 5+ rebounds per game this season in the BCL, but he's played fewer minutes per game than anybody else on that list. Robinson is averaging 16.3 points and 6 rebounds per game in 25 minutes and 24 seconds per game. He posted stat lines of 15+ points and 5+ rebounds in six of his eight BCL games this season, including each of his last four.
