Transfer Report - Gameday 10 - Part 2

MIES (Switzerland) - Finding it hard to keep up with the ever-changing rosters of the Basketball Champions League? Well, worry you not, the Transfer Report is a one-stop-shop for all of the BCL's confirmed signings, and even the odd rumor or soon-to-be-announced arrival. To play on Gameday 10, players needed to be registered with the hard-working people in the FIBA House of Basketball by close of play on Monday (yesterday).

Confirmed

The following are registered and confirmed incomings and outgoings ahead of Gameday 10. The Christmas break is traditionally the busiest time for BCL clubs shuffling the deck. This year has been one of the busiest to date. This is part 2, there were SIX other players already registered to a new club in part 1.

IN

Justin Raffington, C, 28 years, 6'9" (2.06m) 🛬 Rasta Vechta

Rasta Vechta and Coach Calles needed some depth from a domestic source to help with injuries. Raffington was successful performing a very similar role for medi Baureuth recently and Coach Calles is hoping Raffington will be able to come straight in and help in Vechta.

Coach Pedro Calles said: "Justin is already familiar with such a situation and will certainly find his way around quickly. But of course in a game like ours it will take time to be effectively integrated into the system. What we need now from him is to help us in training and to support us in making up for the current situation with the players who have dropped out."

Bobby Brown, PG, 35 years, 6'2" (1.88m) 🛬 PAOK

PAOK decided to bring in some talent to bolster the offense down the home stretch of the season. Their offense has already started looking that bit more potent 👇.

Shannon Shorter, SG, 30 years, 6'4" (1.93m) 🛬 PAOK

PAOK decided to bring in some talent to bolster the offense down the home stretch of the season. Their offense has already started looking that bit more potent 👇.

Rihards Kuksiks, SF, 31 years, 6'8" (2.02m) 🛬 BC Lietkabelis

Lietkabelis have opted to add some more length and shooting with Latvian Rihards Kuksiks. The last time Kuksiks was in the BCL was with Ventspils in 2016/17.

Lance Harris, SF, 35 years, 6'5" (1.96m) 🛬  Mornar Bar

Harris has BCL experience with Elan Chalon and knows how to score. In the 3 games he has already played for Mornar Bar since arriving, Harris has averaged 15.3 points and 3.3 rebounds.

Isaiah Cousins, SF, 25 years, 6'4" (1.93m) 🛬  Peristeri Winmasters

This one was confirmed very late yesterday so we haven't got much to share with you. Cousins is clearly a talent that is yet to show his full potential. With a new coach in Nikolaos Papanikolopoulos in Peristeri, hopefully, this transfer is way for both new arrivals to make their mark in Athens.

Arnolds Helmanis, F, 27 years, 6'7" (2.01m) 🛬  VEF Riga

Helmanis is not a new player for VEF Riga, as he spent two seasons in Riga from 2016 to 2018. After a successful spell at BC Odessa where he averaged 11 points and 5.8 rebounds, Helmanis and Riga will be hoping he returns to the club and makes a quick impact.

Alec Brown, C, 27 years, 7'1" (2.16m) 🛬  Telekom Baskets Bonn

With Bonn rolling in the BCL and struggling domestically it seems offensive depth in the frontcourt is where the club felt they needed to add. Brown is a legitimate stretch 5. During his spell in Nizhny Novgorod this season he shot 44% from behind the arc on his way to 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. In his first game for Bonn, Brown already scored 13 points in 21 minutes.

If you want to read more about this signing, the club put out a press release that you can read here.

Joe Alexander, PF, 33 years, 6'8" (2.03m) 🛬  UNET Holon

Holon are in need of shot-blocking and athleticism in the paint so they have opted for a familiar face. Joe Alexander will bring both of those things back to the jungle in Holon. In case you have forgotten what Alexander was all about the last time he played in purple and yellow, allow us to remind you.....
