Slavica turns on the style as Cibona pull away from Mega Leks

ZAGREB (Basketball Champions League) - Nik Slavica and Cibona breathed some life into their Basketball Champions League campaign on Tuesday night with a convincing victory over Mega Leks.

In the Drazen Petrovic Basketball Center, 19-year-old Slavica poured in a season-high 25 points and came up with one of the dunks of the season as Cibona cruised to an 87-77 triumph.

Cibona improved to 3-6 and stayed firmly in the hunt for a spot in the play-offs while Mega Leks dropped to 2-7.

Beaten earlier this season at Mega Leks, 81-79, Cibona trailed early but took over the game midway through the second quarter after Domagoj Bosnjak buried back-to-back 3-pointers for a 36-34 lead.

Andrija Coric followed with four straight points and Cibona were on top for good. The home side's players, and particularly Slavica, repeatedly pushed the ball quickly up the floor to get slam dunks or lay-ups for the home side.

"It was a great game for us," Slavica said, "for our team. It was an important win to get past this group. (But) Tomorrow is a new day."
