Youth Basketball Champions League draw concludes in Debrecen

DEBRECEN (Hungary) - The draw ceremony for the second-ever edition of the Youth Basketball Champions League took place in the host city of Debrecen on Monday.

The Under-18 sides of 13 clubs, representing nine different countries, will compete for the title in Hungary's second-largest city from April 2 to April 7, when the champions will be crowned.

The 13 teams were drawn into four different groups, as follows:

Former Hungarian international Kornel David was formally unveiled on Monday as the 2024 Youth Basketball Champions League Ambassador.

The former NBA player was on hand in Debrecen to assist with the draw and shared his thoughts on the importance of the event in the development of youth basketball.

The competition will start with three days of group play, and then the four group winners will be paired in the Semi-Finals, with the two teams that prevail advancing to the big Final.

The teams that place second in their respective groups will play classification games for 5th through 8th place in the tournament, while the third-placed teams and the one fourth-placed team will compete for the 9th through 13th spots overall.
