Another Marcelinho milestone; Allen's monster Q4 leads Trapani

    Review
Marcelinho Huertas became the first player with 700+ assists

Four games, four wins for the hosts, but not without drama or clutch finishes.

MIES (Switzerland) - Getting your first-ever home win in the league in front of a rocking crowd or becoming the first player in the competition to share more than 700 assists.

Those are not only things that one could dream of doing during his professional career, but achievements that can happen on a random Tuesday night in the Basketball Champions League, powered by Ameresco SUNEL.

Are you not entertained? Because we surely are.

La Laguna Tenerife 80-70 Tofas Bursa

Stats lie, sometimes. On Tuesday, La Laguna Tenerife led for 24:48 minutes and went up even by 14 points (77-63) against Tofas Bursa in the fourth quarter, but they didn't look as dominant as in other occasions.

With that said, at the end of the day, rough wins still count as wins. In this case, by beating the Turkish side 80-70, it's their 31st straight home win in the BCL, scoring at least 80 points in each of their last nine games at home.

Both Rokas Giedraitis and Bruno Fitipaldo led the team in scoring with 17 points each. Not breaking news in Season X, but this game featured another masterpiece by Marcelinho Huertas.

The Brazilian point God needed two dimes to reach the 700-assist milestone in the competition, becoming the first player in BCL history able to achieve this feat. He completed his task with 6 points and 7 assists.

For the 8th straight game, Tofas couldn't come out of a Spanish trip with a victory, despite out-rebounding Txus Vidorreta's team 40-27. However, they still turned the ball over 14 times.

Tofas' backcourt, composed of Alex Perez and Hugo Besson, combined for 33 points while shooting 13-of-14 from the free throw line in the defeat.

The first clash between Trapani Shark and Bnei Penlink Herzliya saw the Italians coached by Jasmin Repesa prevail 77-74.

The Israeli side led for 27:00 minutes in Pala Shark and were close to turn the head-to-head advantage in their favor, but the hosts had a late 21-5 run to escape with the 101-88 victory.

Former Filou Oostende player Timmy Allen led the way by scoring 20 of his final 24 points in the fourth quarter, while Matt Hurt followed with 18 points over 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and 6 rebounds.

A few years ago Paul Eboua was one of the most interesting prospects coming out of Italian basketball, and this season he's on a different level: on Tuesday, he had 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Chinanu Onuaku was Herzliya's best scorer in the reverse fixture with Trapani at 21 points.

In Sicily, he didn't disappoint either, as he propelled Bnei Herzliya with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. However, him and Elijah Stewart (20 points) weren't enough to prevent the team's fifth straight BCL loss.

    Patrioti Levice 73-71 NHSZ-Szolnoki Olajbanyasz

Patrioti Levice were excited to get their first BCL campaign started on October 8, but NHSZ-Szolnoki Olajbanyasz ruined the Slovakian newcomers' party by getting the 30-point (84-54) win.

On Tuesday, they got their revenge in an eventful 40-minute battle, coming out on top 73-71 to finally celebrate the club's first-ever victory in the competition at home.

Suffering the Hungarian side's ball distribution (19-9 in assists) and despite shooting only 57.7 percent at the charity stripe, Levice came back from -15 (19-34) in the second stanza to complete an unforgettable comeback.

In order to do so, a clutch shot following a dancesque footwork by Gabe Dorsey (17 points, 5-of-10 3FG) was needed, alongside Rickey McGill's 29-point winning effort.

Moreover, Boris Bojanovsky delivered the block of the night to prevent Adam Somogyi (8 points and 10 assists) from scoring the decisive layup with 1:03 left.

Auston Barnes (25 points on 5-8 from deep and 7 rebounds) banked in the fadeaway shot to tie the game at 73-73, but he released it after the final buzzer sounded in GOPASS Arena.

It's obviously not enough to turn the head-to-head advantage in Levice's favor, but as of now, the two teams are tied at 2-2 in Group G, where AEK BC lead at 3-0 and VEF Riga are at the bottom with a 0-3 record.

The environment was insane. It was like a repeat of playing against AEK. I just love how many fans came out to support us.

    Karditsa Iaponiki 82-78 Filou Oostende

Entering the second half with a six-point margin (36-42), Oostende fans might have thought that dark times were over, putting an end to their five-game losing streak in the BCL Regular Season.

Instead, that was the beginning of Karditsa Iaponiki's 14-1 run that solidified the Greek team's advantage over the Belgians, eventually leading to the final 82-78 win at home.

It was a collective effort by Karditsa, which had five players scoring in double-digits, with Brandon Jefferson (17 points and 5 assists) and Alexander Madsen (11 points and 9 rebounds) leading the way.

For Oostende, Haris Bratanovic had a 17-point losing effort, while Noam Yaacov shone in the defeat with a double-double of 13 points and 10 assists - grabbing 5 rebounds as well.

While they allowed 46.7 points in the paint on average in their previous three games in Season X, this time Oostende outscored the opponents 40-20 in points in the paint.

However, it wasn't enough for them as they stayed at the bottom of Group G with a 0-4 record, while Karditsa improved to 2-2.
