Fine and Dendy - Juventus Utena edge Hapoel Holon

UTENA (Basketball Champions League) - LaRon Dendy hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 32 seconds remaining and lifted Juventus Utena to their first Regular Season victory on Wednesday night at the expense of Hapoel Holon.

After blowing a 12-point advantage and falling behind to the Israeli outfit which also entered the game with two losses in their opening two games, Dendy connected from deep just before the shot clock expired and the Lithuanian club held on for a 71-69 victory.

Juventus Utena, who helped their cause at the free-throw line, making 23 of 29 attempts, saw their advantage erode with Hapoel Holon riding the back of Joe Alexander and his 18 points.

TaShawn Thomas had provided most of the offense early and had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Terrell 'Tu' Holloway put a difficult night behind him and scored on a drive and drew a foul before making a free-throw for a 65-63 lead.

But Dendy's go-ahead dagger put Juventus Utena back in front to stay.

Anthony Ireland and Maksym Korniienko each had 15 points to lead the winners in scoring.
