Iberostar Tenerife storm past Juventus Utena for eighth victory
TENERIFE (Basketball Champions League) - Iberostar Tenerife pulled away from Juventus Utena in the third quarter and ended up winning 79-57 to guarantee themselves first place in Group D of the Basketball Champions League until the New Year.
The Canary Islanders, which had five players in double figures led by Taqwa Pinero's 14 points, clinched their eighth win in 10 games.
Fernando Bassas didn't score but the point guard finished with 7 of his team's 27 assists. Aaron Dornekaamp had 6 assists to go with his 7 points.

Juventus Utena trailed 41-37 with 7:52 remaining in the third quarter after a 3-ball from Jamar Diggs but Tim Abromaitis and Fran Vasquez responded with baskets to trigger an 11-2 run for Iberostar Tenerife.
The Spanish outfit stayed on top with a comfortable advantage the rest of the way.
With the defeat, Juventus Utena slumped to 6-4.
