    Facts about Xi’an:

    - 10th Chinese city in term of population with more than 13 million inhabitants.

    - Xi'an, also known as Chang'an in ancient times, is one of the oldest cities in China. It was the capital of 13 dynasties, and it is home to many important historical and cultural sites.

    - Twinning city with Osaka (Japan), Kawasaki (Japan), and Hiroshima (Japan).

    - The city of Xi’an, so does China, has Mandarin as official language.


    What to do in the city of Xi’an? (Other than the Women Olympic Qualifier Tournament😉)

    1. Visit the Terracotta Warriors. It’s a collection of over 8,000 life-size clay soldiers and horses that were buried with the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, in the 3rd century BC. The Terracotta Warriors were discovered in 1974, and they are one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. 

    2. See the City Wall. The City Wall of Xi'an is one of the best-preserved city walls in the world. It was built in the 14th century, and it is over 12 kilometers long. The City Wall is a popular tourist attraction, and it offers stunning views of the city.

    3. Visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Buddhist pagoda that was built in the 7th century. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in Xi'an, and it is a popular tourist attraction.

    4. Visit the Muslim Quarter. Vibrant neighborhood in Xi'an that is known for its delicious food and its unique culture. The neighborhood is home to many mosques, restaurants, and shops.

    5. Shaanxi History Museum. One of the largest and most important museums in China. It houses a collection of over 370,000 artifacts from the history of Shaanxi Province.

  • Shaanxi Provincial Gymnasium

    Capacity: 8,000

    The Shaanxi Provincial Gymnasium is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in the southeast corner of Nanmenwai Square in Xi'an, China. It was completed in 1986 and has a capacity of 8,000 spectators. The gymnasium is home to the Shaanxi Provincial Sports Bureau and is used for a variety of sporting events, including basketball, volleyball, handball, and table tennis. It is also used for concerts, exhibitions, and other public events.

    The Shaanxi Provincial Gymnasium is a well-maintained facility with modern facilities. The arena has a large competition hall with a hardwood floor, a seating bowl with comfortable seats, and a state-of-the-art sound system. The gymnasium also has a number of supporting facilities, including locker rooms, training rooms, and a canteen.
