MIES (Switzerland) - Week 1 of the 2024-25 Basketball Champions League is now in the books, and now that we've digested Tuesday's and Wednesday's action, Thursday brings us a chance to reflect on the best individual performances.
The first Team of the Week consists of Nolan Traore, Saben Lee, Zoltan Perl, Dairis Bertans and Dylan Osetkowski.
Traore put on a show for Saint-Quentin Basket-Ball, leading the way in a comfortable win over Kolossos H Hotels from Greece, playing like a seasoned veteran despite being just 18 years of age.
Lee helped the newcomers from Turkiye, Manisa Basket, stun last season's Final Four participants UCAM Murcia. He tied the record for most points in a BCL debut, tying Tyrone Brazelton's 36-point outburst for Rosa Radom in Season 1.
Perl helped Falco-Vulcano Szombathely to a winning start on the road at WKS Slask Wroclaw, while overtaking Dusan Sakota at the top of the list of all-time bench scorers in this competition.
Bertans led VEF Riga to a win over the 2023 BCL champions Telekom Baskets Bonn by getting the first 30+ point game of his 20-year-long career as a pro.
Osetkowski was on target for the defending champions Unicaja, as they escaped Oostende with a win. Their big guy had BCL career-highs in points and three-pointers made.
You can now vote for the Player of the Week. The winner will be announced on Friday, when the poll closes, on the official BCL social media channels: Facebook, X(Twitter) and Instagram.
