25 things to look out for in Wednesday's games

    Preview

The curtain falls on Basketball Champions League Week 6 action on Wednesday. Here are 25 things you need to know before watching the games.

MIES (Switzerland) - Wednesday features a five-game slate and will see all Group A and Group H teams in action. Here's a closer look at some facts and figures for each of the five games.

    Aliaga Petkimspor (2-1) vs. Unicaja (3-0) - Group B, 17:00 CET

Another home game, another 20-point night for Tyree?
    • Aliaga Petkimspor lost 112-82 against Unicaja in the reverse fixture after winning their first two games in the BCL. They won 77-74 in their only home game so far in the competition, against Filou Oostende.

    • Unicaja have won their last 13 games in the BCL and a win against Aliaga would see them tie Monaco for the longest ever winning streak in the BCL - Monaco won 14 in a row between in April 2017 and January 2018. The reigning BCL champions won their last five road games in the competition, despite trailing at the end of the 3rd quarter in three of those.

    • Unicaja are leading the BCL so far this season in points per possession, with 1.30, and also in two-point field goal percentage, with 69.2 percent, as the only team to be shooting over 60 percent from within the arc.

    • Breein Tyree's 33 point-showing in Aliaga Petkimspor’s only previous home game in the BCL, against Filou Oostende, remains the only time an Aliaga player has scored more than 20 points in a BCL game. The American guard scored more than 20 points in each of his last three home games in the competition (two with Dinamo Sassari, one with Aliaga), averaging 26.7 points per game in that stretch.

    • Unicaja's Jonathan Barreiro scored at least 14 points in each of his last two BCL games (including his 17 in the reverse fixture against Aliaga), a feat he had achieved doing it in only one of his previous 27 BCL appearances. Barreiro has shot a perfect 10-of-10 from 2-point range so far this BCL season.

    Igokea m:tel (1-2) vs. Hapoel Netanel Holon (1-2) - Group A, 18:30 CET

Terrell Carter posted his first ever BCL double-double in the reverse fixture
    • Igokea have lost their three games against Hapoel Netanel Holon, all by double-digit margins. They won 86-80 against Nanterre in their first home game of this BCL season, after losing the previous six at home.

    • Holon won eight of the last nine BCL Regular Season games in which they scored 80 or more points, but lost the last five in which they scored fewer than 80. They scored 90 or more points in each of their previous three encounters with Igokea.

    • Igokea are leading the BCL so far this season in 3-point field goal percentage with 42 percent. They'd never had a 3-point field goal percentage higher than 36 in any of their previous four BCL campaigns.

    • Igokea's Terrell Carter scored more than 10 points in each of his last five BCL games. By comparison, he had only four 10-point games in his first 12 appearances in the competition. Carter had 13 points and 11 rebounds in the reverse fixture against Holon, his first double-double in the competition.

    • Holon's Idan Zalmanson scored a BCL career-high 16 points in the reverse fixture, which was his 41st BCL appearance. The Israeli big man made a total of eight 2-point shots in his last two games, as many as in his previous 10 games combined.

    FIT/One Wurzburg Baskets (3-0) vs. Nanterre 92 (1-2) - Group A, 18:30 CET

Few players have made a bigger splash in their first BCL games than Zac Seljaas
    • Wurzburg have won their first three games in the BCL, including an 88-83 success over Nanterre 92 in the previous game and, if they win on Wednesday, they will become the first German team ever to start their maiden BCL campaign on a 4-0 record. They scored 85 or more points in each of their first three games.

    • Nanterre have lost three of their last four games in the BCL, as many defeats as in their previous 13 games in the competition. They won on each of their previous two trips to Germany in the competition, both against Telekom Baskets Bonn (84-62 in November 2017 and 81-57 in October 2018).

    • Wurzburg are leading the BCL so far this season in offensive rebounding ratio, with 47.2 percent. Furthermore, they allow opponents to collect 4.7 offensive rebounds per game, the fewest in the competition this season.

    • Wurzburg's Zac Seljaas became the first player in BCL history with 20 or more points and 5 or more rebounds in each of his first three BCL games. He posted his BCL career-highs of 27 points and 9 rebounds precisely in the reverse fixture against Nanterre.

    • Nanterre's Frank Jackson and Zac Seljaas are two of the three players to have made four or more 3-pointers in two or more games in the BCL this season (the third one is Darius Mc Ghee). Jackson made five 3-pointers after coming off the bench in the reverse fixture, a joint-high for a bench player in a BCL game this season (Darius Mc Ghee pulled it off in two different games).

    Peristeri Domino’s (0-3) vs. Manisa Basket (3-0) - Group H, 18:30 CET

Justin Patton registered a double-double in the only BCL game he's played in front of Peristeri fans so far
    • Peristeri have lost their last five games in the BCL, including the 79-77 loss to Manisa. Their previous longest losing slide in the competition was three defeats in a row. However, they have won their previous two home games against Turkish sides (87-79 vs. Gaziantep in December 2019 and 76-73 vs. Karsiyaka in March 2024).

    • If Manisa win on Wednesday they will become only the second team from Türkiye to start their maiden BCL campaign on a 4-0 record. The previous one were Besiktas, in 2016, which in fact won their first six games in a row. All three of Manisa's BCL games so far were decided by margins of up to 6 points.

    • Manisa are second in made 2-pointers so far this BCL season, hitting 25.3 per game, largely because they have made a league-high 68 lay-ups and average a joint league-best 44.7 points in the paint per game.

    • Peristeri's Justin Patton registered a double-double in his only previous home game in the BCL, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against UCAM Murcia. Patton had multiple blocks in each of his three games in the competition.

    • Martynas Echodas of Manisa scored 10 or more points in each of his last seven BCL games and, if he repeats that feat on Wednesday, he will register his longest run of 10-point games in the competition. The Lithuanian big man is averaging 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds over the six games he has played against Peristeri in his career.

    FMP SoccerBet (1-2) vs. UCAM Murcia (2-1) - Group H, 20:00 CET

FMP need Jovan Novak to continue providing a consistent scoring threat
    • FMP have lost their last two games in the BCL, including their 86-50 loss to UCAM Murcia in the reverse fixture. The team that was leading at half-time ended up winning in each of FMP’s first three BCL games.

    • UCAM Murcia have only lost one of their last eight games in the BCL Regular Season (103-97 to Manisa on opening day) and have won their last three on their road. They won the first quarter in 14 of their last 15 games in the BCL.

    • UCAM Murcia are joint leaders (alongside VEF Riga) of the BCL so far this season in steals, with 11 per game. The Spanish side came up with more than 10 steals in two of their last three BCL games, something they hadn't done in any of their previous eight games in the competition.

    • Jovan Novak is the only FMP player to have scored 10 or more points in each of their first three games in the BCL, and was the only one to score in double digits (13 points) in the reverse fixture in Spain.

    • Troy Caupain of UCAM Murcia scored more than 10 points in each of his last two BCL games, as often as in his previous 10 BCL appearances. He made at least one 3-pointer in 14 of his last 15 BCL games, including the most recent seven.
