VEF have brought 22-year-old guard Kristers Zoriks back home from the US.  Zoriks, who has suited up for the Latvian national team through all the youth categories,  played in the NCAA with Saint Mary's Gaels and averaged 3.7 points and 1 rebound per game in his last season.

The Riga club also recruited 23-year-old guard Kyle Allman who showed promise in the 2019-20 season, his first as a pro player. Allman joined Greek side Lavrio straight out of college and averaged 11.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in the Greek Basket League.

The Riga club have not only maintained their Latvian core but also succeeded in bolstering it this summer, after signing three domestic players. The 27-year-old swingman spent last season with Kalev/Cramo and averaged 11.1 points and 4.5 assists per game in the Latvian-Estonian League.

The black-whites also brought back Artis Ate who left VEF a year ago to join Romanian side U-BT Cluj-Napoca. Ate averaged 8.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in the FIBA Europe Cup with the Cluj-Napoca club.

Another Latvian recruit is Marcis Vitols, a former member of domestic arch-rivals Ventspils.  The 28-year-old point guard averaged 6.4 points and 3.3 assists per game in the 2019-20 Latvian-Estonian League.
