Olimpija turned the ball over 13 times in the first half, and gave up 10 offensive rebounds to dig themselves in a hole which they could not recover from across the third and fourth quarters.
Dimitris Mavroeidis had a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double, and Giannoulis Larentzakis and Mike Green added 13 points each, the latter adding 7 assists.
"Im very pleased with the effort we put for 40 minutes," said AEK Head Coach Sotiris Manolopoulos.
"We started the game and we were 100% focused with 100% intensity. We kept the intensity for almost 40 minutes. We lost our concentration, we made mistakes, but I can live with those mistakes if we play with 100% intensity and as a team."
Jordan Morgan top scored for Olimpija with a 21-point outing, Devin Oliver did a little bit of everything on his way to 13 points, and Gregor Hrovat and Jan Span added 10-a-piece.
"We expected to come here and play an experienced team, coach did a good job of telling us we had to be sharp today and we didn't do a good job of that," a disappointed Morgan said after the game.
"It's hard to defend easy points, and we gave a lot of points up just off of simple turnovers, deflected basketballs, layups on the break; there's really no defense for that."
AEK improved to 3-3 with the win, whilst Olimpija are 1-5 as both sides are in the bottom half of Group C.
