Ragland leads Sidigas Avellino's huge fourth quarter run to defeat Juventus Utena

UTENA (Basketball Champions League) - Sidigas Avellino used an 18-4 run to open the final period to pull out an 85-75 away win over Juventus Utena in the Tuesday edition of Gameday 7.

The win left the two teams tied at the top of Group D with a 5-2 record, as Kyrylo Fesenko was unstoppable in the post with a 25 point, 13 rebound performance but it was Joe Ragland who stole the show, playing an instrumental role in the fourth quarter to finish with 21 points.

And after the game, Utena Head Coach Antanas Sireika paid tribute to the opposing duo.

"Congratulations for opponent’s team," he said.

"They won, because this game they were stronger. We couldn’t stop two main players – Fesenko and Ragland, and that was the biggest problem in this game."

Heading into the final quarter, Juventus had not trailed for the entire game, but Ragland began heating up as he finished with 11 of his 21 in the fourth. It was his shot with a little over five minutes remaining that tied the score at 69, and he followed it with another 45 seconds later to give Avellino the lead for good.
