Filou Oostende get statement win over Igokea m:tel, series heading to Game 3

OOSTENDE (Belgium) - Down 1-0 in the best-of-three Play-In series, Filou Oostende came out firing in Game 2 and dominated from start to finish, grabbing a wire-to-wire 85-64 win over Igokea m:tel.

Turning point: Oostende dominated the first half, as they led 30-12 after the first quarter thanks to a 22-0 run and they then led 50-24 at halftime.

Igokea only got as close as 16 points in the second half, but if they want to look for something positive heading into Game 3, they did outscore Oostende 40-35 in the final two quarters.

Game hero: Levi Randolph (21 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 7-of-13 FG, 2-of-3 3P) and Demitrius Conger (20 points, 2 rebounds, 8-of-11 FG, 3-of-4 3P) combined to score 41 of the team's 85 points and knocked down five of the team's seven three-pointers.

Stats don't lie: There was a huge difference in points in the paint, as Oostende outscored Igokea 48-16.

Oostende also outscored Igokea by 20 points in two-point shots, as the Belgian club got 10 more two-point shots to fall (26-16).

Igokea only scored two points off turnovers in tonight's game, tied for the fewest in a game in the BCL this season, as Oostende also scored two points in the first round of these Play-Ins and Lenovo Tenerife did it in December 2021.

Bottom line: Markel Starks led Igokea with 16 points and 5 assists on 7-of-12 shooting from the field in the loss.

This is the fourth game in the BCL this season where Starks either hasn't attempted a three-point shot or made a three-pointer.

Oostende have forced a Game 3 that will take place on January 20 at 18:30 CET where Igokea will be the home team again.

The winner of this deciding Game 3 will advance to the Round of 16 Group K.
