Red-hot Eito fires Le Mans past Ventspils

LE MANS (France) - Antoine Eito set the tone for a very good night for Le Mans by drilling a bevy of 3-pointers in a 91-76 triumph over Ventspils.

The veteran guard, who had to exit the game late in the third quarter with an apparent groin injury, ended up with a team-high 20 points on 5-of-6 shooting from behind the arc, 1 of 2 inside and 3 of 4 at the free-throw line.

Le Mans, coming off their first win of the season last week over MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, led by as many as 18 points and were in control for the entire second half.

Ventspils, so impressive last week in their home triumph over Banvit, lost for the third time in four games.

Jonathan Arledge paced the Latvian side with 22 points.

The French club got a lot from Eito but not everything. Valentin Bigote had 17 points and also did well from long range, burying 3 of 5.

Richard Hendrix had 11 rebounds to go with his 5 points and Cameron Clark was solid for the second week in a row, scoring 10 points. Michael Thompson, with Eito having left the game, picked up the slack in his absence. The floor general ended up with 13 points, 6 assists and one steal.
