Great Grant and Delininkaitis late show lift Neptunas past Strasbourg

KLAIPEDA (Lithuania) - Jerai Grant wreaked havoc once again in his normal, efficient way and Tomas Delininkaitis killed off a late SIG Strasbourg comeback as Neptunas Klaipeda won for the second time in the Basketball Champions League campaign, 92-83.

Taking on the club that eliminated them from last season's title race in the Round of 16, Neptunas led by as many as 18 points in the second half but SIG kept their cool and cut the deficit to just 4 with a minute to play after a 4-point play by Jeremy Nzeulie.

The Cameroon international made 5 shots from behind the arc on the night and scored a game-high 22 points but after his last 3-ball, Delininkaitis steered Neptunas to the finish line with a couple of made free-throws and then an off-balance 3-pointer that restored a 9-point advantage.

Grant entered the game shooting better than 58 percent from the floor. He drilled 9 of 11 from the field on Wednesday and finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and a game-best +30 efficiency.

His contributions were all the more important since back-up center Simas Galdikas picked up 4 fouls in less than 50 seconds on the court and hardly featured. Grant logged 30 minutes and 37 seconds.

Neptunas, who fell in overtime on Gameday 1 at Segafredo Bologna but rebounded with a 15-point home win over Besiktas before falling last week at Filou Oostende, play at Petrol Olimpija next week. SIG will host red-hot Promitheas Patras.
