Can Bonn make it 2 out of 2? Everything you need to know before Tuesday's games

 

MIES (Switzerland) - The third Basketball Champions League season is on! Let's have a look at some key facts before Tuesday's games.

Anwil (POL) v UCAM Murcia (ESP)

  • Anwil have won two of their first four games in BCL, including their last one. They are yet to win two in a row in the competition.
  • UCAM Murcia have won their last five games in BCL, their joint-best winning run in the competition.
  • Anwil have made more assists than any other team in the BCL 2018/19 (95) while only one team have made fewer assists than UCAM Murcia (58).
  • Anwil's Kamil Laczynski is the only player this season to average more than 10 assists per game (11 per game). However, he has scored more than four points in only one of his four games.
  • Only one player has attempted more free-throws than UCAM Murcia's Ovie Soko this season (26). He has exactly scored 14 points, grabbed 2 offensive rebounds and 4 defensive rebounds in each of his last two games in BCL.

 

Ventspils (LAT) v MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg (GER)

  • Ventspils and MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg have met twice in BCL history, with the German side winning both games by a margin of 12+ points. Ventspils have lost all the four games they have played against German teams in BCL history.
  • Ventspils have won only one of their last seven home games in BCL, but it was their last one, against Banvit in Gameday 3 (86-80).
  • MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg have lost their last six games in BCL, as many losses as in their previous 24. They were leading at half-time in three of their four losses this season.
  • MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg are the only team this season to have its bench unit scoring more than 50% of its total points (53% - 155/292).
  • Maris Gulbis is the only Ventspils player to average 10+ points (11) and 5+ rebounds (5) this season in BCL. He scored on average seven points in his first two games of the season and 15 points on average in his last two games.




Nizhny Novgorod (RUS) v Le Mans (FRA)

  • Nizhny Novgorod have only won one of their first four games of the season, worst start for a Russian team in BCL.
  • Le Mans have won their last two BCL games after having lost their previous six. They have not won three games in a row since November 2016 (4).
  • Nizhny Novgorod have made more fouls than any other team this season in BCL (105). They also have suffered the most blocked shots from their opponents (17).
  • Le Mans are the only team this season in BCL to have seen a double-digit margin in each of their four games.
  • Vladimir Dragicevic has grabbed on average nine rebounds per game, second-best tally for a center. Nizhny Novgorod dominated the board in their two games with Dragicevic playing but were outrebounded in their two games without him.




Opava (CZE) v PAOK (GRE)

  • Opava have lost their last three games in BCL after having won the first one. Their three losses have seen a margin of at least 16 points.
  • PAOK have won only three of their last 11 away games in BCL, with seven of their eight defeats in that span being by a margin of 10+ points.
  • PAOK have scored the least 2-pointers this season (58) but are also the team to have allowed their opponents to score the least 2-pointers (65).
  • Opava's Radim Klecka has scored 75% of his 2-pointers attempted (18/24), best % among the players in the BCL 2018/19.
  • Phil Goss has scored 45 points in three games, more than any other PAOK player. 23 of these 45 points (51%) have been scored in his only previous game away from home (against UNET Holon).



     

Telekom Baskets Bonn (GER) v Umana Reyer Venezia (ITA)

  • Telekom Baskets Bonn have won their last BCL game (against Fribourg Olympic 83-79) but are yet to win consecutive games in the competition. They have won their two previous games against an Italian team.
  • Umana Reyer Venezia have won six of their last nine BCL games but have lost five of their last six away games.
  • Telekom Baskets Bonn have allowed their opponents to score 51.7% of their FGs attempted in the competition so far, more than any other team.
  • Telekom Baskets Bonn's Charles Jackson has made eight steals this season in BCL, best tally among the centers. He has made his only double-double of the season in his last game, against Fribourg Olympic (16pts & 11rds).
  • Venezia's Mitchell Watt is the best points scorer among the players who started the four first games on the bench, averaging 18.5 points per game. He has also scored the most free-throws among the players so far (26).




Iberostar Tenerife (ESP) v UNET Holon (ISR)

  • Iberostar Tenerife are the only team this season to have led at half-time in each of their first four games. They have won all these games.
  • UNET Holon have won two games in a row for the first time in BCL. They have won as many games this season (3) than during their entire previous campaign, in 2017/18 (W3 L11).
  • UNET Holon have the third-best offensive team this season (357 points) while Iberostar Tenerife have the best defensive record (259 points conceded).
  • Iberostar Tenerife's Tim Abromaitis has scored on average 16.5 points per game in his two games at home, only 5 points per game in his two games away from home.
  • UNET Holon's Khalif Wyatt has scored on average 23.3 points per game this season, more than any other player.



     

Nanterre 92 (FRA) v Fribourg Olympic (SUI)

  • Nanterre 92 have lost their last two consecutive home games in BCL, after winning six of their previous seven games on their own court in the Champions League.
  • Fribourg Olympic have lost three of their first four BCL games, including their two first games away from home with an average margin of -23.5 points.
  • Nanterre 92 have made fewer assists than any other team in the BCL 2018/19 (53) but Fribourg Olympic have allowed their opponents to make 95 assists, more than any other team.

  • JDA Dijon have lost their last three BCL games after having won their first one.
  • JDA Dijon have grabbed fewer offensive rebounds than any team in BCL this season (28) and have also allowed their opponents to grab the most offensive rebounds (62).
  • Saulius Kulvietis is the only Lietkabelis player to have scored 10+ points in each of the first four games. He is the best point scorer for his team, averaging 15 points per game.
  • JDA Dijon's Alexandre Chassang has scored 74.1% of his 2-pointers attempted, best % among the centers this season.

 

Telenet Giants Antwerp (BEL) v Brose Bamberg (GER)

  • Telenet Giants Antwerp have won two and lost two of their first four BCL games but have won their only one game played on home soil (against Hapoel Jerusalem 101-89).
  • Brose Bamberg have won two and lost two of their first four BCL games but have lost their sole away game, against AEK (86-93). Brose Bamberg are one of the three teams this season yet to see a double-digit margin in their games.
  • Telenet Giants Antwerp (44.5%) have the best 3P% this season in BCL while Brose Bamberg have the best FT% (86.9%).
  • Telenet Giants Antwerp's Dave Dudzinski has scored 66.7% of his FGs attempted, best % among the players this season.
  • Brose Bamberg's Tyrese Rice has scored 82 points this season in BCL, more than any other player. He has scored on average 14.5 points per game in his two games as a starter and 26.5 points per game in his two games as a bench player.
