Veterans star in Gameday 5 Team of the Week

MIES (Basketball Champions League) - Wow, what a Gameday 5 in the Basketball Champions League! As always, it wasn't short of drama or impressive performances.

But who were the standouts? It's always a difficult task, but this week, there were a number of veterans who shone through. Here's the Team of the Week:

Zack Wright, Guard

Wright was the star of the show on Tuesday and undoubtedly had the most dramatic performance of the week.

The thirty two year old exploded for 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists plus the game winning score to give Strasbourg an 80-78 victory over AEK.

And did we mention he went an efficient 10-of-15 from the floor?

D.J. Kennedy, Guard

A 30-point, 13-rebound double-double is an impressive performance by anyone's measure, but to do it off the bench, and whilst shooting 9-of-14 and adding 3 steals makes it all the more eye-catching.

That was exactly what David "D.J." Kennedy did this week, registering a ridiculous +35 efficiency rating as Pinar Karsiyaka prevailed 96-91 past UCAM Murcia in overtime.

Glen Rice, Forward

Glen Rice Jr led Unet Holon to their first win of the season, 81-75 over Enisey Krasnoyarsk.

The 26 year old went for 28 points and 10 rebounds, adding 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block but it was in the first half where he did most of the damage, registering 20 points, as Holon will hope for more performances of the same magnitude from Rice to climb off the bottom of Group A.

Amara Sy, Forward

Age is nothing but a number for Amara Sy as he proved once again he can hang with the best of them.

The 36 year old went 8-of-12 for 19 points and 7 rebounds as AS Monaco continued their undefeated start at 5-0 with a 88-73 win over EWE Baskets Oldenburg.

LaRon Dendy, Centre

LaRon Dendy secures his place in the Team of the Week after helping Juventus Utena to a thrilling 90-85 win over Dinamo Sassari.

Knocking down the clutch three that forced overtime, he shot 50% from the floor overall on his way to 22 points, 8 rebounds 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block in a little shy of 30 minutes of play.
