Ludwigsburg pull away in third quarter for victory over PAOK

LUDWIGSBURG (Basketball Champions League) - MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg dominated the third quarter to secure a 103-70 victory over PAOK to open the Basketball Champions League regular season on Tuesday night.


Leading by just six at halftime, Ludwigsburg put 30 points on the board in the third period whilst holding the visitors to just 12; opening up a 26 point lead by the end of the quarter.

They kept up the pressure in the fourth led by Elgin Cook and Dwayne Evans, reaching the century mark to take the early lead atop of Group B. 

PAOK led multiple times in the early stages, before Ludwigsburg took control in the second period, opening the quarter on a 14-1 run behind 7 points from Kerron Johnson.

The home side used a balanced team effort, as five players reached double figures, led by 18 points-a-piece from Elgin Cook and Thomas Walkup, with the latter adding 8 assists.

Kevin Dillard led PAOK with 12 points, whilst Dimitris Katsivelis had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals.
