Leg 1 games too close to call as Qualification Round 3 opens
MIES (Basketball Champions League) - Two ties, a one-point game, and a two-point game were symptomatic of the drama that took place in the opening legs of Qualification Round 3 on Friday.
With the Regular Season nearing, it is all to play for on Monday.

Avtodor Saratov vs SikeliArchivi Capo d'Orlando
Avtodor Saratov came out on top, 70-69, over SikeliArchivi Capo d'Orlando in a thrilling finish in the first leg of Qualification Round 3.
Branden Frazier's free throw with 37 seconds remaining proved to be the winner, as neither team would get another shot off.

Coty Clarke had 17 points to lead Saratov, ably backed up by 13 from Artem Klimenko, whilst Damien Inglis had 16 points and 7 assists to lead the Italians.
Kataja Basket vs Telekom Baskets Bonn
Telekom Baskets Bonn had a dominant start to Round 3 of Qualification, securing a 90-70 win on the road against Kataja Basket.
The Germans opened the game on an 11-1 run and never looked back, cruising from start to finish to give Kataja Basket a tough deficit to recover from.

Yorman Polas Bartolo had 14 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals for Bonn, whilst Julian Gamble led the scoring with 15 as they saw no less than seven players reach 9 points.
Alexander Marzette had 18 points and 4 steals for the Finns.
Lukoil Academic vs Juventus Utena
Juventus Utena had an improbable fourth quarter comeback to shock Lukoil Academic 82-81 in Sofia to open their Round 3 Qualification match-up.
Having trailed by as many as 20 points, Simas Buterlevicius knocked down a pair of game-winning free throws with a second remaining to cap a 29-12 fourth quarter and give the Lithuanians the road win.

Arvydas Siksnius led Juventus with 19 points, as Anthony Ireland had 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Keith Clanton did it all in vain for Lukoil Academic, finishing with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks.
Alba Fehervar vs Pinar Karsiyaka
Alba Fehervar survived Pinar Karsiyaka in the first leg, registering a 92-90 win in Székesfehérvar.
Having led the entire second half, Alba Fehervar slipped up in the fourth, watching the Turkish side take control with four minutes remaining.
However, Peter Lorant had 5 points in the final 1:06, all on free throws, to lead the Germans to the victory.

Lorant scored 24 points, with Alandise Harris adding 19 for Alba Fehervar.
Jarrod Jones had a game-high 27 points before fouling out for Pinar Karsiyaka, as he was joined by David Kennedy with 20 points.
Tsmoki-Minsk vs Nanterre 92
Nothing could separate Tsmoki-Minsk and Nanterre, as they finished the first leg in Minsk tied at 68.
The home side managed to claw back a 14-point deficit, setting up a winner takes all affair in the second leg on Monday.

Chris Czerapowicz had 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead Minsk, with Filip Adamovic adding 12 points and 5 assists.
For the visitors, Terran Petteway finished with 12 points, as Alade Aminu and Jamal Shuler had 11 each.
Donar Groningen vs Movistar Estudiantes
Donar Groningen and Movistar Estudiantes were responsible for another tie in the opening leg of Qualification Round 3, finishing 76-76 in the Netherlands.
In a game that featured multiple lead changes, Estudiantes trailed by 8 early in the fourth quarter before Sylven Landesberg spurred a comeback.

Evan Bruinsma's 17 points led Groningen, with Thomas Koenis adding a monster 16-point, 14-rebound double double.
Landesberg led Estudiantes with 18 points and Nik Caner-Medley contributed 15.
MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg vs Basic-Fit Brussels
MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg continued their steamrolling through the Qualification Rounds with an 85-59 rout of Basic-Fit Brussels at home.
Ludwigsburg controlled the game from opening tip to final buzzer, extending the lead to as many as 33, as Brussels finds themselves in a hole ahead of Leg 2 on Monday.

Kerron Johnson and Adam Waleskowski led five players into double figures for Ludwigsburg, with 13 points each.
K.T. Harrell had 17 points to lead Brussels in defeat.
Telenet Giants Antwerp vs Rosa Radom
Telenet Giants Antwerp held on for a 75-69 win over Rosa Radom in the first leg of their Qualification Round 3 series in Antwerp.
The homeside led from midway through the second quarter, holding off multiple Rosa Radom fourth quarter rallies.
Dave Dudzinski's 15 points led five players into double figures for Antwerp, including Paris Lee who had 13 points, 6 assists and 4 steals.
Patrick Auda had a game-high 19 points, missing just two shots, along with 6 rebounds for Rosa Radmon, with Kevin Punter adding 17.
