Game facts: PAOK v Pinar Karsiyaka

MIES, Switzerland (Basketball Champions League) - Let's have a look at some key facts for next week's PAOK v Pinar Karsiyaka Round of 16 matchup.

PAOK (GRE) v Pinar Karsiyaka (TUR)

  • PAOK have won five of their last six games in the BCL and their last three home games.
  • Pinar Karsiyaka have won their last four games in the BCL but have never won five in row. They have won their last three games with a margin of exactly seven points in each of these games.
  • In the Round of 16 last season, PAOK won at home but were finally knocked out at this stage by the future champion Iberostar Tenerife while Pinar Karsiyaka qualified for the quarter finals after their wins home and away against Besiktas.
  • Pinar Karsiyaka was the joint-leader in points scored during the regular season (1192), helped by having the best FG% (53.5%) and the best FT% (78.9%).
  • PAOK (335) made the most personal fouls during the regular season of the BCL 2017/18.
  • PAOK’s Lucky Jones grabbed 13 defensive rebounds in the last gameday of the Regular Season against Ventspils, a joint-most for a player in a BCL game this season.
  • David Kennedy had five double-doubles during the Regular season, more than any player. He was also the player with the most rebounds grabbed per game (9.0 on average).

Pinar Karsiyaka's Head Coach, Aleksandar Trifunovic, gave us his opinion about tonight's game: "We are in a better situation in both rotation and as a team now. All teams want to go to the Final Four, as we do. All teams have the same chance for me, it's 50-50. With all my respect to the opponent team, I hope we will be the one to qualify from this round. PAOK will have the support of their fans today and all Greek teams know how to control the game. The most important thing we should remember is that this round is a game of 80 minutes, not 40. We need to play for 80 minutes. It is not a big advantage but still an asset that we will play the second game in front of our home crowd," he said.
