Besiktas make it four in a row with three-point clinic against Aris

ISTANBUL (Basketball Champions League) - Besiktas Sompo Japan made it four wins in a row by securing an 83-61 win over Aris on Tuesday night.

Besiktas were unstoppable from beyond the arc, going 15 of 30, to improve to 4-1 on the season, after overturning an early deficit.

Ryan Boatright put on a clinic at the point guard position, going for 21 points and 7 assists, whilst Jon Diebler had 16 points in just 13 minutes, going 4-of-6 from three-point range.

It was the visitors who got the better of the early exchanges, having led by as many as 10 in the opening period, and leading 22-15 heading into the second, despite 8 points early from Besiktas' Diebler.

Besiktas woke up in the second quarter, putting 25 points on the board whilst holding Aris to 11 for a fourteen-point swing heading into halftime. DJ Strawberry hit two big threes in the period, having 8 points at the break, whilst Diebler took his own tally to 10.

Diebler knocked down an uncontested three to give Besiktas 13-point lead forcing Aris into a timeout, and that was the gap that would remain heading into the final period.

Aris hit back-to-back triples to bring it back to 65-56, three minutes into the fourth, but that was the last hope they had of comeback. DJ Strawberry responded immediately with a three of his own, pushing the lead back to 14 and from there Besiktas would cruise the rest of the way.

Aris dropped below .500 after five games of the campaign, now 2-3.

Giannis Athinaiou had 18 points and 6 assists to lead Aris, whilst Keith Benson joined him in double figures with 10 points.
