Basketball Champions League players in numbers at EuroBasket 2017

MIES, Switzerland (Basketball Champions League) - EuroBasket 2017 has been packed with Basketball Champions League talent, and this talent has been displayed since day one of the tournament.

A total of 55 players (19% of the total number of players) taking part in the Basketball Champions League have started the competition on 31 August. That makes the Basketball Champions League the second most represented league at EuroBasket, after EuroLeague (75 players, 26%) and in front of EuroCup (38 players, 13%), NBA (31 players, 11%) and FIBA Europe Cup (22 players, 8%).

The national teams with the most represented players were Belgium, Czech Republic and Poland (each with 7 players out of 12 playing in Basketball Champions League), Ukraine (5 players), Finland, Georgia, Montenegro, Romania, Solvenia and Turkey (3 players each).

The most represented Basketball Champions League clubs were CEZ Nymburk (5 players), U-BT Cluj-Napoca (4 players), Banvit, Besiktas, EWE Baskets Oldenburg, Oostende, Rosa Radom and Zielona Gora (3 players each).

Congratulations to Vlatko Cancar (Mega Bemax), Edo Muric and Gasper Vidmar (Banvit) for their fantastic journey and impressive win with Slovenia! If the first two will not play in the Basketball Champions League this season, we look forward to see Gasper Vidmar helping Banvit to achieve great results this second season as well.
