Banvit's Adonis Thomas scoops Gameday 4 MVP award

BANDIRMA (Basketball Champions League) – Adonis Thomas arrived at Banvit this summer, and it didn't take long for the American power forward to claim his first Basketball Champions League honor of the season.

The 24-year-old forward helped the team finish strong, clinch a third win and stay on top of Group C. He led the Turkish outfit to a convincing 85-74 triumph against medi Bayreuth, unbeaten so far in the competition.

That performance, following Thomas’ scintillating 25-point effort in the opening game that Banvit lost after 3 OT against Umana Reyer Venezia, 108-101, has led to the 2.04m forward being named MVP of the Week 4.

Thomas not only hit 12 of his 23 points against Bayreuth in the last quarter, but he was also setting up teammates or being disruptive on defense as he walked off the court in Bandirma with 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.

Native from Memphis, Tennessee, Adonis Thomas is no stranger to the Basketball Champions League since he played last season with the Italian side Sidigas Avellino, averaging 11.3 points and 3.1 rebounds. Starting his career in 2010-2011 with the University of Memphis, Thomas took part in summer games with Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets, before joining the Turkish side at the end of July.

The ideal five of the Week 4 also includes Bryon Allen (EWE Baskets), Arnas Butkevicius (Neptunas Klaipeda), Devin Oliver (Petrol Olimpija) and Vladimir Dragicevic (Stelmet Zielona Gora).
