Rosa Radom outlast PAOK in epic triple-overtime clash

RADOM (Basketball Champions League) – Rosa Radom were so eager to be part of the Basketball Champions League that they gifted their fans a memorable night already on the opening night of the competition which ended with them celebrating a 93-85 victory over PAOK following a 55-minute roller coaster ride in their Group C opener.

"It was unbelievable, this is the first time in my life I played a triple overtime game," said Rosa's Darnell Jackson. "You have to give a lot of credit to a lot of guys on the team, Tyrone [Brazelton] played great, we had two guys with big threes at the end of the game. Coach did a great job preparing and during the game, he told us to play together and stay focused and that's what we did to win."

The epic clash featured 19 lead changes and 14 ties and both teams led for a little over 22 minutes each. Rosa started the third overtime on back-to-back triples by Damjan Jeszke and Gary Bell and Brazeltone capped-off an 8-0 run from the free-throw line to put the hosts ahead 87-79 and PAOK had no more gas left in the tank to chase another overtime.

"For sure this is a big moment for our club and our town, because it is our first win in the Basketball Champions League," said Rosa head coach Wojciech Kamiński. "Congratulations to my players and to the team from Salonica because they all did everything to win this game, but we were just better in the end."

Brazelton finished with a Gameday 1-high 36 points on 12-of-25 shooting from the floor, adding nine assists and five rebounds. Gary Bell finished with 17 points and eight rebounds while Michal Sokolowski chipped in with a double-double of 12 points and 11 boards.
