Jerai Grant hits free throws down the stretch to see Neptunas past Rosa Radom

KLAIPEDA (Basketball Champions League) - Jerai Grant went three of four at the line in the final 15 seconds to allow Neptunas Klaipeda to hold off Rosa Radom 66-63 on Wednesday night.

The win sees Neptunas improve to 6-1 and stay on top of Group C, as Omari Johnson finished with 14 points, going 4/4 from beyond the arc in the second half, as he led four Neptunas Klaipeda players into double figures.

"It was a tough game as we expected it would be," said Klaipeda's Vytautus Sarakauskas.

"We made too many turnovers, but our defence helped us to survive. We have learned we finish first round in first place, we will give (take) it."

Although it was Neptunas who jumped out to the early lead after holding Radom to just 6 points in the opening period, Radom stormed right back into the game with a 25 point second quarter to hold a slim lead at halftime.

Things heated up in the third with Johnson and Mazeika combining for multiple strikes from beyond the arc.

Down the stretch, five straight points in under a minute from Michal Sokolowski tied it up with 37 seconds remaining as he put the team on his back but couldn't stay hot, missing his next two three point attempts as Grant knocked down his free throws to seal the win.

Gary Bell led Rosa Radom with 16 points in the defeat, and despite the loss, felt his side performed.

"I thought we played well," he said after the game.

"Just at the end they hit some big shots and we missed some big shots. I liked the way played because last game we didn't play our hardest and this game we played our hearts out, we just came up short."
