Cluj-Napoca down Larnaca again and make Qualification Round 2

CLUJ-NAPOCA (Basketball Champions League) – U-BT Cluj-Napoca Petrolina will meet Muratbey Usak Sportif in Qualification Round 2 of the Basketball Champions League after coupling their wins over Petrolina AEK Larnaca on Thursday.

The Romanian side, that had secured a 78-50 victory in the first leg in Cyprus, defeated Larnaca 67-56 at home in the return game to punch their ticket to the next round of qualification.

Cluj-Napoca were so dominant on the glass that they out-rebounded their visitors 45 to 25 and consequently Larnaca, who only shot 37% from the floor, could not rectify and find scores through second-chance points.

Filip Adamovic got the hot hand from long range and drilled five of his seven three-point shots attempts to post a game-high 20 points, while big man Ousmane Barro collected a near double-double of 12 points and nine rebounds.

For Larnaca, who will continue their European campaign in the FIBA Europe Cup, Alexis Harris finished with 18 points in a losing effort.
