Basketball Champions League Regular Season field complete

MIES, Switzerland (Basketball Champions League) – The Basketball Champions League (BCL) qualification rounds just ended and the exciting prospect of taking part in the Regular Season became a reality for four additional teams who will be joining the inaugural edition of the competition.

Kataja Basket, KK Mornar Bar, Juventus Utena and Openjobmetis Varese were the first four teams that emerged triumphant and made their way to the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. On Thursday night, they were joined by CSM Oradea, Ironi Nahariya, Bakken Bears and Usak Sportif who won the remaining four tickets and advanced to the group stage of the Regular Season.

40 participating teams, coming from 22 different European countries (including 9 current and 19 former national champions) will take part of the inaugural season of the Basketball Champions League. The groups are distributed as such:

Regular Season
Group A: Banvit (TUR); Fraport Skyliners (GER); Aris BSA-2003 (GRE); ČEZ Basketball Nymburk (CZE); Helios Suns Domžale (SLO); AS Monaco Basket (FRA); Bakken Bears (DEN); Ironi Nahariya (ISR). 

Group B: Pinar Karsiyaka (TUR); Umana Reyer Venezia (ITA); Avtodor Saratov (RUS); Maccabi Rand Media Rishon Lezion (ISR); Khimik (UKR); Le Mans (FRA); Kataja Basket (FIN); CSM CSU Oradea (ROU). 

Group C: ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne (FRA); EWE Baskets Oldenburg (GER); PAOK (GRE); Neptunas Klaipeda (LTU); Rosa Radom (POL); Ventspils (LAT); Muratbey Usak Sportif (TUR); Openjobmetis Varese (ITA).

Group D: SIG Strasbourg (FRA); Sidigas Avellino (ITA); Iberostar Tenerife (ESP); Telenet Oostende (BEL); Cibona (CRO); Mega Leks (SRB); KK Mornar (MNE); Juventus Utena (LTU).

Group E: Besiktas Sompo Japan (TUR), MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg (GER), Szolnoki Olaj (HUN), Dinamo Sassari (ITA), Stelmet Zielona Gora (POL), AEK (GRE), Partizan (SER), Proximus Spirou (BEL).

The Regular Season consists of five (5) groups of eight (8) teams each, with games played home and away in a round robin system. The four (4) best ranked teams from each group will advance to the Play-offs, together with the four (4) best ranked 5th placed teams. The next top eight (8) placed teams will join the FIBA Europe Cup. The action will tip off on 18 October.
