Baron shoots his way to MVP of the Week honor

KLAIPEDA (Basketball Champions League) - When Jimmy Baron is in his shooting rhythm, there is very little an opponent can do to stop him and that was certainly the case on Tuesday night when he poured in 29 first-half points and finished with a new Basketball Champions League record of 42 to lead Neptunas Klaipeda past Muratbey Usak Sportif, 103-88.

Baron didn't just hit a handful of 3-pointers, but two handfuls. He drilled 10 of 15 shots from the arc and walked off the court with a sparkling efficiency rating of +40.

The performance has netted the 30-year-old Rhode Island native the honor as the Gameday 8 Most Valuable Player.

The 1.91m Baron has now made 28 of his 56 attempts from long range in the Basketball Champions League this season. His latest display helped Neputnas win for the seventh time in eight games and ensured them top spot in Group C ahead of ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne.
